Anyone who reads this by April 14th, 2009 (tax day!) and has both an account for this site (register or log in) and a GryphBoard account gets a free doodle of their non-human character. ;) Non-human because I’m just not confident in my human-drawing abilities.

I’ve been having trouble with spam comments up the wazoo through Wordpress. I’ve gone through registered users and deleted most of those accounts that seem to be spambots. I may have missed some — and I may have deleted some legitimate people. If I deleted you, my apologies! Please simply sign up again.

I will be attempting to keep a handle on spam through moderated comments. So far, none of the spam-fighting plugins for Wordpress have seemed to meet my needs, but I’ll keep looking for a good one.

If new users could enter a short bio, that’d be very useful in distinguishing real folks from bots. It’d make my life easier. :)

The Gryphon’s Cry, the official E-Zine of the Guild *dramatic fanfare*, is up and running! Check out the Guild comic, a round-robin effort by many Guilders. I drew the first one, and Atmis drew the wonderful follow-up. The Common Room is under attack! So far, Oura and Twix have contributed one-off Halloween images (short comics) to the Cry. More art, stories and poetry will follow, so be sure to !

I’ve added the Guild Chat Rules and FAQ to the site, along with some more information on joining and using IRC. I updated the major links at the Board to refer to the new pages (although some URLs have not changed), as well as making more visible links to the Chat and FAQ at the top of the Board. I have very few pages left to add or convert to the main page!

Also, the format for The Cry is coming along, and should be done in a few days. At that point, I will open sign ups for contributors to both the E-Zine and Guild comic! It should be really fun. Watch here and the Board for more information.

I’ve added a Links page. If any Guilders have a personal site they would like linked (personal sites only, no galleries or journals), let me know by commenting here (you need to sign up first to avoid spammers) or PMing me (velvetdragon) on the Board.

Welcome to the new, improved GryphGuild webpage! I’ve used Wordpress, a publishing platform, as a content management system for the site. That means updates and changes are easier to make, and hopefully will lead to a more dynamic site in the future. For now, the site is just bare bones, but there are many plans for the future, such as a new version of the Guild e-zine, The Gryphon’s Cry, and a Guild comic with multiple contributors.

In the next couple days, I will be adding information on how to get RSS feeds on Guild content. Also, you may choose to register at this site, so that you will be able to make comments on entries. Feedback will help this site grow and improve.
